Expecting a cloudy day with a 70% chance of showers or light rain and a high of 61F Yesterday, the commandant said he will allow the beaches along the City of Virginia Beach to open beginning this Friday, but with limitations. Vehicle parking will be reduced 50%. There will be no crowds on the beach. There will be no music on the beach. There will be no sports of any kind on the beach. There will be no alcohol on the beach. People going to the beach must maintain social distancing at all times and are to only go for the purposes of exercise, sunbathing, swimming, surfing, or fishing.
