The forecast for Halloween calls for a chilly day, with a high of 55F, and partly cloudy skies. Should anyone attempt to trick-or-treat*, the weather from 6PM to 8PM is expected to be partly cloudy and the temperature will be dropping from 53F to 47F. Overnight, partly cloudy skies will become overcast, the temperature will drop to 43F, then rain again for Sunday. *The Commonwealth of Virginia has laws regulating the practice of trick-or-treating. No child above age 14 is allowed to engage in the practice. Trick-or-treating is only allowed between the hours of 6PM and 8PM. Some cities and counties have ordinances that place the age limit at 12 years of age. This year, the governor and state health department discourage any trick or treating, Halloween parties, scavenger hunts, or other activities in which people of different households could come into contact with each other due to the potential spread of COVID-19. Nothing scary with today’s Halloween forecast, if you’re choosing to participate in any safe, socially-distanced holiday activities.
