First half of the race his car handled great and he was in the top five, then his handling went south, got that more or less fixed. Then on his last pit stop his crew chief made a huge error in judgement. As Mark was slowing to get onto the pit road, his crew chief tells him to get back on the track because he thinks a caution might come out in another lap or two. No cautions and Mark ended up way back in the pack. Before the race began Mark gave one piece of advice to his crew chief, he said they weren't racing for a win, but for a good finish and stay high in the points; make no mistakes. Mark finished 17th. A lot of flat left rear tires today, interesting and rather odd. Lots of trash in the air too, shades of last year's race in California. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
