Stans
Morning y'all, if it is normally open today, it will be closed. All schools, universities, local courts, local government offices, state courts, state offices, federal courts, federal buildings and all but one military installation as well as a multitude of businesses are closed. One, active duty military facility is planning on opening 4 hours late. It is currently 31F and the freezing rain started about an hour ago. The new forecast calls for temperatures to vary between 29F and 31F today and tonight. Light freezing rain now will become moderate to heavy freezing rain between 0700 and 1100. Periods of light freezing rain this afternoon. Tonight, continued light freezing rain through to 0900 tomorrow. Roads are expected to become nearly impassible today and tonight, power outages are expected to be widespread and of a prolonged duration. Power crews had not even finished restoring power to everyone who lost power in last weekend's ice storm.
Donster
Morning all. 4F under cloudy skies with a -7F wind chill. Temperatures are not nearly as cold this morning as it appears we’ve put the minus teens behind us. Plan on a day of mixed clouds and sunshine. High today of 15F. First day with a high above 10F in 15 days. Sets a new record for high temps below 10F set in 1912. Hand in there Stans. Ice is the absolute worse. Stay in if you can. Pray that the wind doesn't kick up and cause the trees and power lines to snap.
Stans
This looks promising. It is 33F, light drizzle, and the new forecast calls for just period of light rain this afternoon and a little freezing rain tonight. Only about 1/4 inch of ice on my trees and shrubs now.
