Stans
It has just hit the official site. http://www.pacific-fighters.com/en/updates.php Let the whining begin.
Stans
Oh, and make sure you get the right versions. Merged install is approximately 30MB, stand alone is about 24MB. FileFront still has them labeled backwards, other mirrors don't even have them up yet.

Baltar
Same here. I actually like 4.01m so if it messes with the flight model in a bad way, I have no use for it.
Stans
I made a back up copy of my merged install and upgraded the back up to 4.02m. Seems the Corsair might have a little more power in 4.02m. I am able to get the -1D off the deck of the escort carrier with carrier speed of 20 knots, Corsair 75% fuel, 8 HVAR's, and two 500 pound bombs. I get real close to the water, but I do get airborn. In clean condition, the Corsair feels like it rolls faster, accelerates faster, but doesn't seem to be quite as unforgiving at slow speeds. More testing needed. Stag
I did; doesn't seem to have done the flight model any harm. But the Tempest is still not flyable, and the mossie promised is nowhere in sight. The new "NW Europe" map is a generic. In all, rather disappointing. Gunny
Sorry Stag, but you were expecting anything different?
Stans
I just did a quick track in 4.01 and then played it in 4.02. If there is any difference, it is minimal. There may be some tweaks to the flight model, but I really can't tell. I guess the big thing is the addition of a generic northwestern Europe map. Well, after more testing, I don't see a big difference in the Corsair's handling. I've gotten used to its quirks and no longer think the stall is all that bad. Am I becoming an old salt? Wonder when I'll get my silver bar?

Stag
Sorry Stag, but you were expecting anything different? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not particularly, but at least they could have made good on the Tempest. Is anyone still playing Wings Over Vietnam? I'm getting quite good with an F4-C.
Stans
I was just downloading some Vietnam era jets for FS2004 today. I should fire up WoV instead. Besides, the ones for FS2004 don't have virtual cockpits. Heck, most don't even have a 2D side view!!!!
