Stans
A good race and Carl Edwards is certainly a new name in Nextel Cup and a rising super star.
Shepherd
I want him or the 20 to win the cup, anyone but the 6 or 48.
JClark
I was hoping the 12 would make a better showing...I think Roger Penske needs to take a hard look at Matt Borland...sigh... Stans
I think Tony will win the cup, but yeah, I'd like to see Edwards win. He seems to be a pretty down to earth guy.
Shepherd
At the race last weekend Edwards was the only guy out in the trailer village signing his name for fans before the race.
Stans
Yeah, he seems to be one of the very few in cup racing that really cares about his fans, loves the sport, and drives with his brains and heart. He likes to win, but not by playing dirty. Saw Rusty Wallace on Date Line right after the race tonight, good interview, he is truely the last of the old school Winston Cup racers. He did say that Dale Earnhardt's untimely death did influence his decision to retire. He said the whole face of NASCAR changed that day, country was out, youth and rock-n-roll were in, and he wanted to get out while he could and enjoy what he has earned. Say what you will, but the likes of Rusty Wallace, Dale Earnhardt, Mark Martin, Dale Jarret, etc. are real racers who took the sport seriously, raced hard, and settled their differences before going back to the trailers. The young, sniveling, upstarts today would rather whine and complain and do stupid things than act like real men.
JClark
Like NASCAR would let them settle it like real men...phhhttt Hell, Tony had to start taking Prozac! Boats
Gunny
Used to watch NASCAR all the time and we never missed a race at Talledega while I was growin up. Petty, the Allison's and the like are what I like to remember as NASCAR. I've tried to watch this new generation and I don't like 'em.
