petercar89 Posted October 19, 2004 Report Share Posted October 19, 2004 I recently received cfs2 as A present.I downloaded it and when trying to start,it tells me to install the CD rom in the drive.I do so,and still get the same message. this is the message;please insert the correct CDrom,select O.K.and rerstart application.if the correct CD rom is already insertid,then your cd may not be compatable with this product. What are you saying? that you copied the files from the CD to the harddrive? That's not necessary; all you do is insert the CD in the drive and if you have AUTOPLAY enabled on your drive, then you should see an install screen pop up. If not, just go to My Computer, right-click on the CD Drive's letter and select "Auto Play" from the menu choices. If this doesn't work, then you'll have to let us know some things about your system: What is... - Your operating system (Windows 98, Windows XP, or the like) - Your CD-ROM type and speed Also, have you tried just cleaning off the CD? Use a soft cotton rag (a clean T-Shirt works pretty well) and wipe it from the center outwards using straight strokes. If it is a brand new CD, then just check for any nasty smudges and if there are none, ignore this advice. I can't recall if CFS3 has one or two disks, but if it has two, then make sure you have Disk 1 in the drive. Let us know how it goes. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
