Donster
Welcome to the forums miklo74! Yes you have heard correctly that Falcon 4: Allied Force is pretty good. Read one of our reviews HERE. Some more of our group will be around soon to add their .02 cents worth I'm sure.

cobraj
Does anyone remeber the old "Flanker" jet sm series. Never tried it, but back in the day the people that did raved about it for realism. You can probably fine it in the bargain bin. And with todays graphics you can fly it with all the graphics up full! JP-4
I don't want to stir up any controversey here or anything, but I was on the original G2 Interactive team that started work on Falcon: OIR. After that fiasco I haven't had the heart to look at any improvements or this new release of Falcon (yes I know this title isn't OIR). My question is does anyknow know if the campaign AI was improved in this product? What I'm referring to is the tendancy for the computer to send you on deep strike missions on day one of the campaign with no package support. No SAM suppression, no Counter-CAP, no jammers...nothing. That was one of the biggest downfalls of the original campaign. Sure it was great about assigning the right targets but horrible about putting together the right packages to accomplish those missions. If it has, that might be enought to open up some old wounds and apply the salve of a new Falcon release.
JP-4
Cobra I've still got a copy of Flanker 2.0 sitting in my drawer, I never get rid of computer games. Flanker was great for flight fidelity but the game never held my interest. The only thing I've done with it to this day is to load it up and mess around with the flight model and do a dogfight or two.

neddie seagoon
Not to steal your thread miklo, but I'm gonna answer JP's question. Oh, before I do, Welcome Aboard. Yeah, JP, the thing that F4:AF does best is improved AI. The campaign engine has been seriously worked over making for a vast improvement. It's not perfect by any means, it's AI after all, but it's pretty good. It still has some problems assembling a complete "gorilla," but at least there's a stab at it. The other big improvement is in multiplayer. They completely redid that bit and it now works quite nicely, thank you very much.
Spectre_USA
Yuppers Neddie, it is a long-chalk better, as pointed out in my review. Adding flights to assist is the coolest thing about F4:AF, IMHO. Goin' deep? Bring some Weasels along. They don't have to be Falcons, but any jet fast to keep up with your strikers. A little fighter sweep in the area, and you have the complete package. They are sticking with it as well. Here they announce the newest patch; We are pleased to announce immediate availability of latest update for Falcon 4.0 Allied Force. Patch Three (Version 1.04), which has grown to 24 MB in size, can be downloaded directly from our pages, or you can use the build in 'Falcon 4.0 Allied Force Update Check' utility, found under "Start menu/Programs/Battlefiled Operations", to bring your existing local installation to version 1.04. The Patch is a cumulative patch so it will update any previous version to the latest 1.04. Changes and improvements in this version are many and include both new functionality as well as fixes for known issues. Check here. As soon as I tuck in my latest review for Flight Journal, I intend to fire it back up...
