Stans
My service returned to normal on Thursday, worked perfect until exactly 18:30 EST, when my upload speed dropped to near zero. Another service call scheduled for after normal hours, Tuesday after 5 PM. I'm not likely to be posting until this problem is resolved. Y'all take care, see ya when I can. Looks like you need to switch to DSL. CommieCast is obviously scheiss. My friend in Pittsburgh has been having troubles with his service lately too. JClark
Scream, not shout, for someone in the local management. Remember, there's a good chance you're talking to a center hundreds of miles away, especially at night. Tell them your service has been, for all intents and purposes down for X number of days, which you will NOT pay for, and for which you DO expect a rebate on, plus credit for the aggrivation Comcast caused you. You've got to get the local political body that has oversight over their franchise into the mix as well. Comcast does NOT work in a vaccum. They are regulated. It got real bad here in Jacksonville, to the point where the city told Comcast that next franchise period, they were going to open it up to bidders. There was also discussion of forcing Comcast to issue general rebates for poor service. Things have turned around here now, and when I had my problem with comcast, I got a month free, and the next 3 months at 1/3 cost. Don't take their crap. Take charge. They work FOR you, and they HAVE TO listen to you. Remember, when it comes to Comcast, take no prisoners, and eat the wounded. No fear... Stans
Service man was here this afternoon, and early, but he waited for me to arrive. He talked to me about the problems I was having, really seemed to pay attention. Then he went outside and found the cable junction box. It seems the cable was damaged at the box, insulation torn from the back of the connector, wires exposed. He spliced in a new section of line, seems to be working. We'll see.
