When will people ever learn that you don't mess with a Marine?

Why did he have to pick on those poor, oppressed, underprivileged kids? They were just trying to survive in a world run by corporations and neoconservatives. If it weren't for Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld, our precious young people wouldn't have to steal to get what they deserve. This is what happens when you don't supply children with PlayStations and condoms and unlimited free music downloads from Napster. That former Marine brought it all on himself. Then he snuffed out a deserving life for no reason other than to guarantee his own unfair survival. How selfish! How racist! Think what might have happened if he had been carrying a gun! Why, they all might have died. And don't lecture me about those kids having a shotgun. They deserved that shotgun, after all the horrible atrocities committed during the slave trade and the Indian Wars. That awful Marine violated their rights by defending himself.

And as a virtual Marine aviator, I say -- OOH RAH!

ROTFLMAO! Well done Lee!

The sad thing is that the family that was killed and the one injured will get a free "ACLU lawyer™" and sue that Marine for everything he has and will ever have for the rest of his life.

Stand up and be counted! And this ex-Marine was! Thank God there are still some MEN around! Can you see The Duke running from a confrontation like that? Didn't think so!

Good on him !

If US law says he acted in self defense and he is not charged with any crime ...how can he be sued ??? I don't get it

Because US liberals -- pardon me, I mean "progressives" -- don't believe that US law applies to them.

Consider the case of San Francisco, which has banned handguns even though US law clearly allows citizens to own the weapons. And which legalized gay marriage even though it isn't recognized under US law.

For the Left, the ends always justifies the means -- they just call it "civil disobedience" ... <_<

It'll be called "wrongful death" Arch. The former Marine, according to that way of thinking, should have given them everything he had and avoided confrontation. Which, as the article reads, he did try and avoid confrontation. It was not until they cornered him and pulled weapons on his that he did act. Doesn't matter tho, he killed an "innocent crook" as the family will no doubt paint the girl as God's gift to humanity.

Thinking like that makes me sick, Skip. Then criminals decide to mug someone, break into a car, break into a home... in my book all bets are off. They KNOW what they do is wrong, they should face the consequences. I will not spill a tear if some burglar is shot carrying a TV out of a home.

Yea yea, call me cruel. No one HAS to steal, kill or generally be a bastard.

Well, in Virginia, the victim of a crime has the duty to run away, screaming like a little girl and is only to fight back when cornered and confronted with potentially lethal force, I think Georgia is not quite so socialistic. And in VA, if it's clear cut self-defense, most judges won't even listen to the bs case. Good going for the former Marine!

First let me say, OOOORAAAAA! Well done man!

Stans, Georgia has a "castle doctrine" law which is due to go into effect soon if I am correct, it has already passed. You are entitled to stand your ground and are not obligated to flee a threat if you are lawfully entitled to be where you are. So it would be harder to sue him in GA. Now it is not unusual for the leftists to disregard the law of the land entirely and try to replace legislation with the courts as they have been doing with countless lawsuits against gun manufacturers. The idea is that if they can't outlaw them, they will use judicial action to bankrupt them. They sue the makers for the actions of criminals. This is like suing Ford motor company for letting their cars be operated by drunk drivers.

Yep, I'd like to see the Castle law go into effect in Virginia, but considering that one house of the legislature is quite left wing/socialist (and they are Republicans!) and the governor would be just as happy if he could go door to door and confiscate firearms, I don't see it happening. :(

I picked this up on the net this evening...

Stephens said they face robbery and aggravated assault charges and are suspected in other robberies over the past week. Autry will not be charged.

Sounds good to me!
